HSi Appoints Medical Informatics Expert to Advisory Board

Well-known healthcare IT leader to bring industry insights and best practices to guide company growth and consulting service expansion

Bainbridge Island, Wash., February 03, 2016—Health Systems informatics (HSi), a healthcare consulting and solutions firm, announced today that Dr. William Bria, Chairman of the Board at the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS), has joined its 2016 Advisory Board.

“We are excited to add Dr. Bria’s leadership and expertise to our advisors,” says Gerry Bartley, Chairman and CEO of HSi. “With the rapidly changing healthcare landscape, we found it imperative to engage experts in the healthcare industry in order to meet present and future client requirements.”

The Board is comprised of members with extensive industry knowledge in healthcare administration, medicine and large-scale health IT initiatives. Now into its second year, the Board provides objective council on strategic business direction, how to address opportunities and challenges, and company alignment with industry trends.

The 2016 members of HSi’s Advisory Board include:

Dr. William Bria II, MDChairman of the Board of Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS) and CMIO of visualDX.

Dr. Bria is a renowned leader in medical informatics having been on both the operational and strategic side of healthcare IT during his career. He directed the medical informatics plan for an IBM partner actively engaged with the development of the latest technologies applied to patient care, and also directed the medical informatics plan for a 22 hospital system spanning across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Dr. Bria spent several years handling the strategic planning, selection, design, management and implementation of large-scale clinical information systems, as well as sharing his knowledge though professorships and positions on a variety of advisory councils and boards both domestically and abroad.

Florence’s areas of responsibility include 5 hospitals and over 100 sites of care, Heart Institute, Behavioral Health, Retail Health and Community Based Care, Facility Management, as well as Information Services. She came to MultiCare in 2006 and was instrumental in leading the system-wide implementation of their electronic health record system, achieving MultiCare’s goal of “One Patient, One Record.” Prior to her current position, Florence served as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Clinical Support Services. She has also been a partner at Dearborn Advisors and held various leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente in California.
